We spent two fabulous days with Jack during our visit to Chiang Mai. If you are looking for a guide or driver, look no further...hire Jack. He is... read more an absolute gem.
For our first day, we drove the couple of hours to Doi Inthanon in Jack's super-comfortable and spacious van. We hiked in the beautiful park with a local guide for a couple of hours, and visited the King and Queen pagodas. We also went to a beautiful waterfall. Perhaps the highlight of the day, though, was the lunch we had with Jack's friend Mr Charlie and his wife. They graciously welcomed us into their beautiful bamboo home in a small hill village, and made us lunch from delicious fresh vegetables picked that morning from the farm where they grow crops for The Royal Project. They were such lovely people and it was an incredible experience...do not miss this if you have the opportunity.
The second day Jack picked us up early to drive to Doi Suthep before sunrise. I highly recommend this. The temple is beautiful in daylight, but simply breathtaking before dawn. It is still pretty quiet there at that time of day, and watching the sun come up over the city was lovely. We then visited two other lovely temples (Wat Phalat and Wat Umong) before wrapping up with delicious Khao Soi at a local restaurant. Try not to eat anything for breakfast and hold out for this delicious (and filling) meal.
Jack is patient, relaxedand flexible. He has a great smile and an infectious laugh. When we return to Chiang Mai we won't hesitate to book more time with him. Sabai sabai Jack...until next time!

He created a tour based on our needs. For two days we visited Sukhotai, had some wonderful temple tops on the way and even managed to visit Sanchanalai before heading to the airport the day after.
If you are looking for an adaptable and understanding your guide, this is your place. We went to see the sites we were interested in, and got to eat amazing food based on his recommendations (local Thai food, not westernised versions). On top of that, he was kind enough to take pictures of us with our phones and his camera.
Overall, these two days were a memorable experience making a new friend who I would wholeheartedly recommend for anyone looking for a knowledgeable guide, with great humour and very kind human nature.

His understanding of... read more traffic patterns, and other variables gave him the insight to provide great suggestions, which I'm glad we followed because he was right about the best food, coffee, and views and historical sites that had the least amount of crowded tourists. We also got to see the only elephant hospital! So cool!
Jack also has an exclusive relationship with a specific hill tribe that only allows his guests to visit as if they are family. We stayed in a very clean and bamboo home, picked fresh vegetables and cooked them with our hosts and enjoyed a hot shower in the jungle. Wow. What a way to unplug and enjoy the peaceful nature!

Jack took us to Doi Inthanon National Park where we went trekking with Mr Charlie, we also visited a hillside tribe where my husband ground the coffee beans, one of the ladies was weaving scarfs, purchased several. Jack has a big heart and has a wonderful sense of humour, nothing was too much trouble, we never felt rushed and would have no hesitation in booking with him again. Jack gave us recommendations where to eat, places to visit once we had finished our tour with him. During the 2 day tour Jack became our friend rather than tour guide.

March 15, 2022MartinZakostelskyWe (me and my wife) definitely enjoyed our half day tour with our tour guide Jack.
The arrangement in advance was smooth, Jack suggested some key locations by email, which... read more we finally agreed on.
Jack speaks english quite well (which I cannot say about some other Thai guides).
On a tour he showed us very nice places, and also flexibly recommended some other ones, which he thought would be suitable for us. We liked them very much.
We started at 5:30 going to Doi Suthep to experience beautiful sunrise. Our tour lasted totally cca 6 hours. There was no rush on time and we felt that Jack is fully present with us. It was great that we got some background information about the temples, Thailand and it's people, buddhism, we also talked about our personal lives. I feel I would have enjoyed talking to Jack for few more days :).
Jack is an open, warm-hearted man who smiles a lot and is apparently loving his work, which he does with passion. For us, it was a refreshment after dissapointment with our guide from our tour previous day.
It was great that Jack took his own camera for photographs, and he also used our mobiles, so we have a lot of nice photos from the tour.
If I had to mention some downside, it would be that on the tour there wasn't much time just to be and enjoy the atmosphere of the places without speaking (what me and my wife enjoy doing). But to be honest, that most likely isn't our guide's fault, as we told Jack at the beginning that we would like to know a lot of interesting information, and we wanted only a half-day tour and had a lot of places to see. Nevertheless, after the first half of the tour Jack probably felt this and gave us time alone at a nice place, which was a great highlight for us.
Overall, we recommend Jack as a tour guide, and if we happen to come to Chiang Mai again in the future, we will gladly use his services.
