The White Karen, also known as the Sgaw Karen, are one of the largest subgroups of the Karen people in Northern Thailand. We go to visit them at Mae Wang Area, Nong Toa village 

The trek is easy! It’s about 2km, mostly flat with gentle slopes – perfect for a 6-year-old. Think of it as a leisurely stroll with breaks to enjoy the scenery. Any concerns about your child’s fitness? Just ask!

You’ll likely be working with Arabica coffee beans grown by the local hill tribe farmers. You’ll learn about the different processing methods and have the chance to roast and brew your own cup using hand roast techniques.

While the coffee harvest season (November to March) offers a fascinating glimpse into coffee processing with ripe cherries on the trees, our tours run year-round, each season offering unique charm. Outside harvest time, the landscape transforms with vibrant rice paddies and other crops, providing a different kind of beauty and insight into local agriculture. You’ll witness the changing rhythms of nature and discover how the communities adapt throughout the year.
